Korean traditional dance

Korean dance can be considered the most primordial form of art, as it uses the human body as its material and transmits expression through movement.

Furthermore, because it is not an individual dance but rather one that has been passed down through groups, it is inferred that dance originated from ritual ceremonies and religious rites aimed at invoking supernatural forces, being transmitted within the community.

Representative examples of Korean dance include mask dances, monk dances, and shaman dances.
